Ambrosial Avocado Mousse. Rich and light all at once with lush lime and orange taste notes. Silky smooth and deliciously decadent!
When you are in the mood for dessert that is not too sweet, punch your ticket with Ambrosial Avocado Mousse. Balmy nutty avocados play off lightly sweetened lime juice and are given a lift with the addition of whipped cream. A silky smooth palette pleasing concoction that wont leave you wanting.
Shop for ripe avocados and be sure to chill them before you proceed. A chilled bowl for whipping the cream and chilled serving glasses help keep the mousse at the top of its game. You can use any orange liquor, I did find triple sec a little to sweet though. My directive for “mash your avocados well” translates into leave no large chunks behind. Dessert does not get any simpler to throw together than this.
People love their avocados from salsa’s to sandwiches, to toppings for burgers. My use of avocados for this tasty dessert was inspired by Agnes Moorehead. For those of you too young to remember Agnes was a wonderful radio, stage, and screen actress know best for her role on Bewitched. Agnes played Endora, Samantha’s mother and achilles heel to Samantha’s husband Darren.
With easily obtainable ingredients and a quick prep window there is no reason to NOT give this recipe a shot. That is of course unless you don’t care for avocados. I don’t believe you will be disappointed.
